Where the Heart Is by Shana Anderson
by sabine7 / February 3, 2010

Embroidery gets an update when traditional stitches are digitized and printed on textiles rather than needled in. Shana Anderson looks to her own roots for inspiration and transfers handmade family craftsmanship to a contemporary context for her Where the Heart Is collection of cushions. Anderson "borrows" her aunt's needlepoint and her grandma's crochet doilies to create patterns that express the idea of home sweet home at a time when we feel the need to be grounded.
