Pop surrealist Mia's eerie fairytale-gone-bad settings take a turn for the darker. The LA-based artist adds a heavy dose of gore to some of her more recent paintings, which are still based on stories in the collective consciousness. The female subject is always of much importance, as Mia tries to inject more complexity into characters that might otherwise remain two-dimensional. It is no surprise that this young artist minored in creative writing. With an imagination such as hers, Mia is more than competent at telling rich stories through her paintbrush.
