Torino artist Fabio Viale uses a traditional material for his very contemporary sculptures, but it is not always obvious that marble is his material of choice given the subjects. There is a look of Styrofoam to his skull and Mona Lisa; classic torsos are covered in tattoos. Huge, black tires are linked forever, deceptively rubber-like. But perhaps the biggest surprise is Viale's marble motorboat: smooth, sleek and functional. Seeing is believing; check out the video.
