Dark Doings by Dan Witz
by sabine7 / October 27, 2009

How much do we really notice, even as we walk past monkeys peering out from behind windows or tigers giving us the eye? Is someone watching us from behind closed doors? Dan Witz plays off our lack of observation skills in his series Dark Doings by trapping human and animal faces behind dirty glass windows and mounting them on various doors. The faces are just barely perceptible, but even a quick glance leaves a haunting impression of the potential danger that lurks close at hand. But how many will be aware?
