An exhibition of nearly 100 paintings by Vasily Kandinsky done between 1902 and 1942 are joined by over 60 works on paper at the Guggenheim Museum in New York. The retrospective draws on work from collections at the Guggenheim, the Centre Pompidou in Paris and Munich's Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus, and the forty-year span provides for a wonderful visual evolution of the artist's oeuvre, especially as the abstraction in his work grew ever stronger.
