Paul Critchley
The first book of work by Paul Critchley covers paintings spanning an 18-year period. It is a visual journey through Critchley's irregularly shaped oil paintings from the time the artist started this technique. The subjects are both the interiors of a variety of European settings and a range of landscapes at different times of day. The shaped nature of the paintings of the interiors makes the viewer feel as though he or she is peeping into a private setting, and similarly the landscapes over a very particular point of view. This book offers the viewer the chance to take the time to explore Critchley's surroundings.
