Vitamin 3-D: New Perspectives in Sculpture and Installation by the editors of Phaidon is the latest in the Vitamin series of contemporary art surveys. Selected by critics, curators, art historians and writers from around the world, 117 artists are represented in this look at sculpture and installation art today. Sculpture is no longer the classically-defined medium it once was, as new materials and ways of display have opened up the field, keeping it fresh. The medium is examined in detail in this serious volume about an area of contemporary visual art that is often less easy to interpret. A good reference book.
