The Lance Armstrong Foundation in collaboration with Nike just mounted an exhibition called Stages at the Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin in Paris. The show, whose title reflects both the Tour de France bike race and the phases of cancer, featured work by 20 established and emerging artists, including pieces by Shepard Fairey, Yoshitomo Nara and Andreas Gursky. Although each artist's contribution is highly representative of individual style, themes that link the work together are the use of yellow (the jersey worn b the winner of each day's stage during the Tour de France) and references to either cycling or the fight against cancer. The show will travel to New York in the fall.
