Silvia B.'s sculpture series Les Plus Beaux provides the viewer with some unusual perspectives regarding male self-perception. The artist's boyish sculptures have the power to disturb, given their aesthetics. Silvia B. uses a variety of accessories and clothing to style these boys who go against our stereotypes. There is ambiguity about age, masculinity and behaviour. The models appear both tough and vulnerable, a mix of innocence and decadence. Unsettling, yes, but are we bold to enough to admit why?
