Ellen McDermott's recent works of photography are portraits with a twist. Unusual settings, props or costumes highlight the expressive nature of McDermott's subjects, so this Irish artist's portraiture really pops. Not all of McDermott's photos have as much of a narrative or cinematic feel as these three do, but all do stand out as being not at all ordinary.
