Scott McFarland crafts his photographs by combining negatives to create a whole, yet the viewer is likely to take the finished product at face value. What is perhaps more noticeable in this new body of work is a sense of the anachronistic. Women drying laundry on bushes might well come back into vogue on a large scale, and we might have to turn back to the horse and buggy when we least expect it.
