Carousel by Rodolphe Foucher
by sabine7 / May 8, 2009

The colour in the work of Rodolphe Foucher is what holds the most appeal, whether in its subtlety or at its highest impact. The bright tones of this traditional carousel set against the clear blue sky evoke carefree times where one is so close to almost making a leap. Yet the much softer palette of a scene with a house perched upon a cliff combines both a sense of solitude and the tumultuousness of the waves below. And the cobalt of the tires turns them to gems.
