"Skyscrapers" by Voy Madeyski
by sabine7 / April 24, 2009

Wojciech (Voy) Madeyski is an architect by profession who uses enamels on canvas to create colourful cityscapes that are evidence of this architectural background. He applies the paint by carefully using plastic dispensers, sometimes wet, which causes colours to mix in unpredictable ways, or in layers. The result is an exuberant rendering of the artist's perception of our man-made environments. Despite the urban focus, Madeyski takes his inspiration from nature, especially the mountains and canyons that are then replicated on the city streets.
