Artist Blake Fitch began documenting the lives of her half-sister Kate and their cousin Julia in 1997. For ten years she continued this project that presents the evolution of two young lives. There is nothing awkward or intrusive about acting the role of the voyeur to this development; Fitch has captured moments quite honestly, with neither stealth nor guile. There is a sort of serious freshness about the series, perhaps due to the lack of adolescent drama or obvious emotion. But this does not render these moments any less important, of course.
