"Typer" by Dana Schutz
by sabine7 / April 14, 2009

Dana Schutz's most recent body of work includes a mix of styles. Schutz's usual colour and movement are present, but there is also a style that incorporates preliminary information into the final product. It is almost as though the painting comes together before the viewer's eyes. Segments are missing, as though torn away, leaving patterns in their place. Lines dance off the canvas and perspective changes. This hint of surrealism adds dimension and action to an oeuvre already lively.
