Hawaii-based Chris Lundy's new exhibition Notes From the Field is a series of paintings of a world made up of the thrashing movement of waves. Lundy takes the energy and grace from the sea and parlays this life aquatic into impressive large-scale works that are filled with colour, motion and detail. Despite the action in these paintings, Lundy says, "These paintings are not meant to serve as portraits of situations. They are meditations in and of themselves and hopefully serve as a glimpse into the rhythmic, radiant sanctuary that is the true home of many."
