"Saint Pierre" by Ian Carpenter
by sabine7 / March 6, 2009

Ian Carpenter's paintings are abstract landscapes that could just possibly exist if one squinted or got too much sunlight in that thin spot just between eye and the closing lid. These can perhaps be described as imaginary landscapes, but there is something about them that feels as though they are very close to a reality of sorts. Carpenter's use of colour is what injects that fine line between truth and fiction.
