Orderly Conduct is a series of photographs by Bahbak Hashemi-Nezhad that are set in public spaces where all the subjects have something visibly in common. These are all gestures or behaviours that are so commonplace that they have become ubiquitous or stereotypical, but when performed en masse manage to rise again to the surface as a defining behaviour. The series takes place in London, Amsterdam and Tokyo, where the artist very patiently took many a picture of unsuspecting pedestrians. Without realizing it, you will feel a smile creeping over you face. Then it will fade when you realize you may not be as unique as you think.
