"Colours Are Not Created Equal" by Sandra Ackermann
Woman is the protagonist and the backdrop of Sandra Ackermann's recent paintings. As the complications of war and industry play out, she is a participant, a witness and a central figure in our current reality. She wears world events whether they are fashionable or not. The backgrounds of these paintings are just as important as the foregrounds and the mix of styles and techniques serves to contrast the two, yet in a way that is not at all harsh, reflecting perhaps the complexity of the world of which we are part.
