Don Carter decided that his version of street art would be more interactive than the usual, so he placed several small paintings of birds around his town of West Hartford, Connecticut, with a note specifying that they were free for the taking. It was not long before all these birds were to fly away. A colourful presence in unusual spot, the birds were most often plucked by families. The artist hopes that kids might become inspired to do the same sort of interactive installation some day.
