Yesterday we took a look at Peter Verhaar's interiors, but so often windows play a part in such settings. Today we look at the sky from Verhaar's point of view. The Painted Sky is a series of thirty acrylic on paper pieces. Each one allows the light blue sky to peep through carefully constructed brush strokes of colour that could be the work of the sun, but clearly are not. The faint clouds hover and are seen again in the New Building series, where perhaps we look through a newly set window, marked by an x.
