"Once in a Lifetime" by Peter Verhaar
by sabine7 / December 10, 2008

Peter Verhaar's interiors are layered paintings that are at once subtle and rich. Positive and negative spaces, steps and stairways, corners and windows, and washes of paint and adhesive building tape are simple architectural elements that lend themselves to creating a ghostly presence or the sense of a not quite empty room. Depth and dimension are created by Verhaar's techniques and soft palette.
