"Aluminum Landscape"
by sabine7 / October 14, 2008

Kimihiko Okada has created an Aluminum Landscape that incorporates changes in nature into the installation. This public space project, located outside at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo, is a hollow structure of a thin membrane of aluminum supported by a system of metal posts. The result is an installation resembling a shiny mountain range, on a smaller scale. The sun and the sky are reflected; rain and wind have a physical impact. The exhibit was on display from July through the end of September, incurring changes as time went on.
