Dan Gamble's "visual inventions" are organic forms that morph into geometric structures. Reminiscent of scientific drawings, these softly coloured images emerge from layers of paint that may have started out as memories of landscape, perhaps changed first by light and weather, then the mind and hand of the artist. Gamble's landscapes become recognizable only to him; to other viewers, they may be construed as snapshots of a fantastical journey.
