Saul Zanolari digitally renders photographs to create a gallery of surreal portraits that have more than a touch of the macabre about them. Zanolari has a variety of series under his belt, covering categories as diverse as dolls, Djs, drag queens, family members, and creatives. His subjects are frozen in a moment that goes on for far too long. These mummified, waxy people have been turned into characters that would slip easily into any horror movie or landscape pertaining to Chuckie. Or perhaps that is our world …
