Krista Huot’s work is of tall, thin females and shorter, squatter creatures that seem worried or very much afraid, with a few magical animals here and there. Oftentimes, the Huot world has not quite the sweetness of fairytales, but rather the edge that has the viewer concerned about what lurks around the corner. Other times, ballerinas in various shades of green dance oblivious to danger of any kind. This artist’s work is elegant and unpredictable.
Krista Huot will be exhibiting at the Corey Helford Gallery in Culver City from July 19 through August 9.
