The latest work from Calgary-based Jason Bartziokas is a mixed bag of dogs jumping through hoops, birds in flight and the ever-present Elvis. The techniques used in Holy Cow forces the viewer to focus on the birds in the forefront, much the same way the cows are gazing at them. SweetPete is a piece that lets us imagine what His Master’s Voice might get up to when not listening to music – perhaps the music of Elvis himself. Jason Bartzokias is exhibiting work in the MADE in the WEST exhibition that takes place in Calgary and Edmonton this month.
