Tyler Starr is a Tokyo-based artist whose recent series of woodcuts portrays our connection with the objects around us as we try to MacGyver our way out of situations. Starr’s observations are based on the “Attempted Fix” and the “Neighbouring Contraptions” that people in his area have put forth in order to solve a problem or create a solution. The politician rigs his bicycle with speakers and shrines are erected wherever they need to be placed. Starr uses a traditional Ukiyo-e technique to print his woodcuts.
