James Marshall, also known by his street art name of Dalek, is featured in his only solo exhibition of 2008 at Irvine Contemporary in Washington. Marshall, a formidable artist in his own right, was also an assistant in Takashi Murakami’s studio in 2001-2002. His new compositions are chock full of highly-saturated colour and a kaleidoscope of shapes, psychedelic fantasy worlds of rainbows and sharp edges. The Technicolor geometry evokes a futuristic landscape, full of movement and action and hidden players.
