Welsh-born and currently based in Spain, Elinor Evans examines the relationship between human and animal in her recent works. The animal in humans is certainly evoked, but Evans considers their importance and intelligence as an integral part. Many of the subjects wear animal masks to signify “the social mask of hypocrisy”. Her upcoming exhibition at The Apartment in London is called Facing the Mask, a series that highlights the aspect of human absurdity.
