Windows at Walgreen's
We’re trying to leave Miami behind, but these photos of Adriana Carvahlo’s metal dresses we saw in the windows of Walgreen’s (really, art was everywhere!) reminded us of work too god to overlook. At first glance, the pieces seemed to be metal interpretations of gowns, but it didn’t take long to see the feminine battles caged within the superficial finery. The Tin Woman is not wasting her time waiting for a heart or anything else; she chooses instead to use the tools at hand to do whatever it takes. The exhibit was put on by the Art Center/South Florida as part of the Contemporary Art in South Florida program.
