KayLynn Deveney recently published a book of photographs portraying the simple components that made up the moments of an old man in Wales. The Day-to-Day Life of Albert Hastings is a gentle collection of photographs that manages to distil so much life and emotion. Albert Hastings would probably be appalled to think that anyone could associate poignancy or sentimentality with these pictures, but that it comes out is testament to our frailty as viewers. Did the photographer recognize this and move in closer? Whatever the case may be, slowly perusing this series is a good way to pass a few moments in contemplation.
