In commemoration of the twenty-fifth anniversary of the artist’s death, Aperture just re-issued the 1979 monograph, which was the first book Lisette Model ever allowed about her work. Model was one of the most important photographers of the past century, one that was to play an important role in influencing those that were to come after her, like Diane Arbus and Larry Fink. This book includes over 50 classic model photos of everyday people doing everyday things, yet managing to capture the imaginations of countless viewers. This cannot help but be a most beautiful book.
