"So She Won't Float Away"

One of the most appealing aspects to browsing Hilary’s website (yes, she is a one-namer) is the inside information on how her paintings came about. There is a theory that art should stand on its own, but when there are stories that go along with it, as well as easy access, it is often made that much richer. The piece above, So She Won’t Float Away, arose out of a comment Hilary heard about a daydreamer who needed to weigh herself down with heavy bags, to keep from disappearing into the clouds.
