Lilly Piri is an Australian illustrator whose coloured pencil works are dreamy interpretations of a wide variety of narratives. The Storyteller is an apt choice by which to present her, as Piri’s work is another storytelling medium. Her Alice (with the White Rabbit, of course) is striking because of the dark hair, but once we are drawn in, we cannot help but notice the similarities between Tweedledum, Tweedledee and the baby pig. Piri’s is lovely, gentle work that has to be looked at carefully and attentively.
