Bridget Riley’s optically provocative paintings contain repetitive shapes with variations on colour and size. Riley’s work has gone through shifts in form and it is easy to group works that are of the same family. Riley’s most recent pieces are at times like flames, others feathers, but always giving off the illusion of shapes swaying. The motion and the strong use of a wide range of blues also lend an oceanic feel to the grouping.
