"Girl On Picnic"
Tim Mara’s screenprints from the mid-1970s could easily be mistaken for present day offerings. Mara printed multiple colours over black and white collages, resulting in glorious spreads of pattern, often taking up to 3 months for the completion of a single print. Domestic scenes crowded with furniture, wallcoverings and emotions bring to mind the interiors of the old masters, bringing the distant past to mingle with a more recent one in works that do not look for a second out of place today.
