Nature That Imagines is the title of Gary Brewer’s new exhibition and the paintings in this group certainly evoke an undersea fantasy. Brewer focuses on a different range of life forms and the viewer can practically feel the movement of the anemone and corals as they sway in the deep. The artist uses these as a metaphor for our own place in the universe. Would that we could feel suspended in those gentle spaces, all muffled sound and diffused light.
