The Complete Pictures by Gilbert & George is exactly what it purports to be: the artists’ oeuvre in its entirety, in 2 volumes and a carrying case. Over a 35-year career Gilbert & George have produced an impressive collection of work that mixes performance, photography and graphics and these two books contain 1,500 colour illustrations of this. The release of these books coincides with the 40th anniversary of their collaboration, which is also marked by a touring exhibit that will cover six cities, already underway at the Tate Modern in London and ending at the Brooklyn Museum in early 2009.
