Near the Guerra de la Paz studio in Miami are depots of used clothing that is bound for export. Alas, some of the pieces don’t make the cut, and are saved by the team of Neraldo de la Paz and Alain Guerra who carefully sort the pieces by colour and texture for use in their large sculptures and installations. The clothing is cleaned, but retains a history of previous wearers, which breathes life into the works. The above piece, Spring, is one of the four seasons created from clothing, and Guerra de la Paz have put a lot of effort into horticultural or environmental scenes.
