Abby Leigh’s recent works include paintings that are transparent layers of gentle blues and greens that look as though they might be maps of the celestial bodies or perhaps an examination of potions under a microscope. Leigh mixes the mineral powders of her pigments with oil for optimum viscosity and this results in a softness in her works. Her graphite drawings are a series of circles that burst out like distant suns, again more abstract than her earlier oysters.
