Leonard Cohen is known and loved for his work as a writer and singer, but has been involved in the visual arts for about 40 years. Mostly another way of recording memories, Cohen’s drawings have also been used as illustrations for his Cds and in his recent Book of Longing. A habit of his in 2003 was to sit before a small mirror upon rising and start the day with a self-portrait, which resulted in a visual journal with jot notes.
