Berlin-based Anselm Reyle’s approach to painting can be modern in a minimalist monochromatic way or can sometimes involve a multitude of colours and textures in abstract stripe paintings. Reyle’s works are meant to stimulate the use of one’s dreams and imagination, rather than be ‘understood’. Reyle is not only a painter. Using assistants in his studio, he does monochromatic foil installations as well as sculpture, using found objects and lighting in creative ways.
