"Beano"

Tim Stoner’s paintings are seemingly backlit images where the aura of light around the picture serves to erase its details. Stoner starts with a traditional painting, and then adds layers of veils so that the original image floats behind much masking and the final product tends to float in front of our eyes. But float as they may, these pictures are usually of people quite connected, often holding hands, touching or side by side.
