"Pastrami on Rye"
by sabine7 / May 8, 2007
Red Grooms' prints and sculptures are exuberant renditions of the ordinary, with a touch of whimsy to show just how lively life can and should be. Grooms’ work relies heavily on the personages that are to be found within any scene, to give each one the chance to be a narrative. His eateries are packed with hungry patrons enjoying their food, and the Paris panorama is injected with a little je ne sais quoi by way of the accordionist playing strains of Piaf.
