Scenarios is the title of a recent Robert Rauschenberg series of paintings that are made up of multiple dye transfer images on 8’ x 10’ polylaminate surfaces. Each piece is host to a variety of narratives linked by the various images, but left largely to the viewer’s interpretation. The compositions are a sort of collage with open spaces, allowing the viewer the chance to focus on the various elements.
Lucy’s Beach is one of the more eye-catching of the pieces, no doubt in part to the many signposts captured by Rauschenberg, whose job is, of course, to attract and guide.
