"Glass"
by sabine7 / May 4, 2007
David DiMichele’s recent exhibition, Pseudo Documentation, was comprised of a series of large scale photographs of fantasy installations. DiMichele creates small scale models of gallery spaces and then mounts the installation in miniature to provide the set for the ensuing photography. The artist concentrates on matters of scale, perspective, abstraction, lighting and figuration, but what it comes down to is amazing work that cannot but pull the viewer right in. The use of glass, salt and ice in a few of his pieces intensifies the viewing experience even more and the viewer longs to actually be in the photo to experience the creation.
