Dan Witz has been adept at filling the streets with art for years. Avoiding the cops is key to the success of his work, so he often uses stickers (but certainly does not limit himself to these) that he makes up before application. These are photos printed on sticker paper that Witz then paints over to add dimension. On site he will then airbrush shadows onto the surface of the door or wall in question, usually taking less than a few minutes to complete an installation, And if the cops do happen by? Oh, he’s just taking a photo ….
