Australian artist Rosemary Laing’s series of photographs entitled
Weather is a reflection of the changing global climate, both politically and in a physical sense. Laing is prone to themed series depicting women in unusual situations and this one is no different. The artist designed a dress based on clothing from Victorian times and thus clad, the female subject is suspended amidst a weather pattern involving numerous strips of newspaper. The result is a series of images of an almost faceless woman being whipped about by circumstances that may or may not be beyond her control.
