Ottawa-based painter and animator Andrew King recently opened a show with an interesting twist: the artist has hidden three original paintings on public property throughout the Ottawa Valley that can be found through the wonders of geocaching. These treasures are well worth the hunt, as King’s work is a mix of human helplessness set against backgrounds of vast open spaces and big skies. King’s characters mourn their own weaknesses as well as their grannies.
